“Somebody Else”

“This lyric’s message had a good universal feel – who hasn’t wanted at one time or another in his/her life to be somebody else? Yet there was a uniqueness in the approach – to want to be somebody else to feel good and find love once again. I found the lyric easy to identify with, memorable and easy to ‘sing’ along with. A wish for improvement would be that the author focus less on the mistakes made and more on the pain of not being loved anymore…that would make a more favorable light for an artist to want to cut this song. All in all, a strong lyric. Congratulations, Alex.”

“Like the subject, well crafted, like the positive ending, I think the melody can make the hook stronger in the chorus.”

“I’ll Meet You”

“A test of a good song is if the song can make you feel something. “I’ll Meet You” accomplished that. The lyrics were simple, straightforward and from the heart. I felt the love in this message and “heard” the melody in my head as I read the words.”

“Nice song but nothing different, question the meter he has chosen on verses, could be stronger.”

“Same Old Mess Another Day”

“Like the subject matter but needs tightening in form and some parts of the lyrics.”

“Same Old Mess Another Day” conveyed to me the confusion and questioning of purpose many people experience when facing the possibility of war. I didn’t care for the author’s choice of hook, but found the lyrics intriguing which made it stand out above others”.
