SaraLee has a gift for touching a soft place within us with her lyrics. No stranger to the winner’s circle, in SaraLee’s latest lyric, Grandpa’s whimsical sayings and strong visuals grabbed the hearts of a couple of the judges and never let go. The lyric could have been written about any number of grandpas and that was the universal appeal to the song. However, what kept this song out of 1st and 2nd place was the need for a strong hook in the chorus and an original, fresh approach. |
